I left comments on Kain Bradly’s work for the gaming world’s chapter I don’t think there was much to correct his work seemed to be pretty solid and the topic informed me a lot. I’m sure that I missed some mistakes that someone could point out to me but I did read the work several times and I found nothing new.   I could not read Darragh Coles I am not sure if he uploaded his work to the google doc I emailed him im not sure if he received the email. I also read the comments left by Kain and I am planning to make the changes to the work so that it is better his comments seemed valid and it seems that he actually read my work which is appreciated as good feedback is important

Tutorial 07

  (stack of pages) Today im going to be talking about the unity tutorial for this week. This week’s tutorial was familiar with me as I had top do a lot with text in the game jam, game I made. So making canvass and using text mesh pro is already familiar to me. Importing google fonts is alawys useful so knowing how to do that is useful. Formatting the text was easy as I already done it before. This tutorial was a very quick one as I knew what I was doing. Making the player be able to hold the text like a clipboard was useful swell as many unity game have instruction done like this. More snapping practice is useful to know how to optimise the vr controller still a shame I cannot test it due to not having a vr headset.

From this criticism I now know what I need to improve in the paragraphs I had written last week. I now know that I need to expand a little on what I have written include a quote or two into the paragraph and have more information in the paragraphs. I also feel I need to read back over my paragraphs again and see if I can improve the wording aslo to see if i have correctly phrased the opening sentence and if the conclusion is correct. The feedback I received was mostly positive which I hope is a good thing but I learned a lot by reading other peoples work which I think will help me improve the paragraphs.

  (https://unity3d.com/files/images/ogimg.jpg) Hello today im going to be talking about this week’s unity tutorial We learned more about placing things in unity vr and making them snap to objects. I went over how to resize mesh sizes which was useful as i haven’t used that feature in a while and it also taught me new things on how to make things snap into place, this is useful for any game I’m making that requires items to be stopped when placed. The tutorial also shows how to make things light up with proximity which is useful for interacting with items. The tutorial was useful learning how things light up and snap into place is good for making tutorials in video games and helping the player understand how to play the game.it would have been helpful to have a working vr controller to test these things n game but I guess testing in unity itself will have to do.

It was a very easy tutorial and didn’t take much time the new thing I learned was Vertex snapping which I did not know about before. I think working In the right scale is important as well as was demonstrated in the tutorial if he didn’t resize everything he would be too small to start the car battery. This tutorial has been the most technical so far and it is a shame I do not have a vr headset to test these tutorials like it suggests in the videos. It would be nice to actually see how it looks like In game.
