Today Im going to be talking about the reading for this week.

The reading for this week is about systematic storytelling and what kind of story telling it is.

Systematic story telling is story telling through game mechanics so they are the ultimate choose your own adventure game because the story is told through game rules and game systems instead of a linear story.

An example of this would be crusader kings 2 where you play a medieval leader be it historic or made by yourself and you rule land from a small barony to a whole empire wit different government systems and interaction between characters this game tells its own story through each Ai interaction provide the story told for your character making it meaningful to you as your choices make the impact.

Another example would be Sidmeirs civilisation where you play as a nation and you take it from antiquity to the modern age. You make the story by the game you play the alliances you forge and the battles you win. You could take all of Russia cities and leave them one so they pay for stealing your worker or you could nuke another country for not trading with you. Either way you make your own story and your mind fills I the blanks similar to a book
